Social Collaboration

Cim 2.0 provides a rich and easy-to-use Web 2.0-style-environment for social collaboration that makes it easy to contribute, collaborate on, develop, and communicate ideas, improvements, and other information.

Brand your portal using CSS and xHTML-styling framework.
  • Robust Communities – Supports multiple communities with a rich web experience that makes it easy to use by a broad audience of users. You can create standing Communities, Campaigns, Challenges, Contests, and Channels.
  • Easy to Contribute - Adoption starts with ease of use. Feature-rich web form, tagging, and upload of documents, pictures, graphics, files and URL links for each post.
  • Rich Collaboration - Rich community collaboration – star rating, commenting, email, additional file attachments, email.
  • Lists – Lists that make it easy to find by most recent, search, structured tags and filters, tag cloud and dates.
  • Notify and Communicate – Keep people in the loop. Subscribe to feeds by community, author, tag, or post. Email author or others. Customizable automated alerts and notifications.
  • Rich Web 2.0 Services –News Service, Group Blogs, Wikis, external resources integration, and a centrally configurable Link Service – all designed to make the experience more robust.
  • Recognition with Top 10 Listing - Provide recognition for contributions. Listing by Most Recent and Most Popular based upon the Start Power ranking.
  • Activity Dashboard - See activity across multiple communities including percent of total, last 30 days, status and, categories.
  • Engage from Anywhere across SharePoint – Snaplets are our flavor of "widget." All portal features are Snaplets. You can distribute them to other locations across a SharePoint environment where users can see, contribute, and act. This convenience increases visibility, engagement and effectiveness.

Management

Contributions from your workforce, whether new ideas or improvements, can’t be ignored by management. There must be action by smaller teams to transform the contributions into approved innovations or improvements. The Management Hub is where you manage the contributions, the review and approval process, the supporting work, and the integration with downstream activities.


  • Multiple Hubs – You can have one management hub for multiple communities. Or, multiple management hubs tailored to the needs of that specific community.
  • Manage - Change status, comment, rate, and attach additional information – acting on all communities.
  • Customizable Stage-Gate Process – You can customize the stages and gates for your review and decision process. Custom actions drive the process workflow with notifications.
  • Screening – Work with contributions from one or multiple communities. Screen them and submit them for review. Categorize them and associate the review form you want to use for evaluation.
  • Structured Review Forms – Quickly review multiple contributions. Create multiple review forms for different types of contributions.
  • Enhance – Customize how users can enhance contributions from others with forms and attachments of files.
  • Supporting Team Workspaces – As ideas progress to innovations or improvements, teams need to work in support of it. Create separate workspaces for these teams to manage the work that is assigned to them. From their workspace they can interact with the team and the original contributors.
  • Management Voting – Reviewers and managers can cast their votes in the Voting feature. Each vote is shown to this group (not the community at large).
  • Decision Making – Record your group decision after reviewing the input from the original source, the reviews, the votes, and the enhancements. Approved innovations move to the portfolio with automatic notifications to contributors and sponsors.
  • Portfolio Management - Track and manage your portfolio of approved innovation projects. See different slices of the portfolio. Initiate and track downstream activities to develop or implement the innovations.

Execution

As contributions transform into approved innovations, how are they brought to life? This is the Execution phase. Cim 2.0 provides a robust set of capabilities to support turning your innovations into realities. It starts with you initiating downstream activities.


  • Drive Downstream Activity – Customizable workstream actions make it easy to initiate downstream activities such as assign approved ideas as tasks, kick off projects, and hand off to other groups and teams for implementation.
  • Track Downstream Activity – Track the status and information of downstream activities that you’ve initiated across team sites, project portfolios, and other applications.
  • Implementation Team Workspaces – Implementation Teams can have separate workspaces where they can manage the innovations that have been assigned to them for implementation. From their workspace, they have upstream visibility and can interact with the innovation team and the original contributors.
  • Project Management - We work natively with most SharePoint-based project management solutions, including our own CorasWorks PPM 2.0. We also integrate with Microsoft Project Server, native SharePoint project sites, and 3rd party project systems through our customizable workstream actions.
  • Reporting – Standard set of reports on community activity, review processes, and portfolio. Business users can customize these reports to get their own perspective with more than 30 different types of charts. Advanced reporting is supported by our customizable, Flash-based reports.

Customization

Cim 2.0 is designed to be flexible in its implementation and easy to customize to meet the needs of different business scenarios.


  • Extensive Portal Customization - Customize the portal branding, tabs, menus, and portal services and communities look, feel, and functionality. Branding uses a styling framework based on CSS and xHTML.
  • Enhance with Snaplets - Customize portal functionality with CorasWorks Snaplets from processes, CorasWorks apps, or any customized Snaplets for SharePoint.
  • Point-and-Click Customization Wizards – Point-and-click wizards to customize the data, notifications, process flow, edit and view forms, task automation, workstream integration (upstream, supporting, and downstream), and navigation.
  • Customize Stage-Gate Review Process - Customize the stages and gates for your review and decision process. Customizable actions drive the process workflow with notifications.
  • Notifications and Workflow - Add or modify notification triggers, notification format and content, document approval workflow, process workflows, and downstream activities.
  • Enhance with 3rd party Add-Ons – Enhance with a broad array of web parts from Microsoft and 3rd party developers. You can also leverage add-ons specifically developed to enhance and extend the solution.
  • Integration with Project Management - Natively supports integration with CorasWorks PPM 2.0. Supports integration with third-party project systems inside SharePoint or externally.
  • Integration with Other SharePoint Sites/Apps - Supports integration with upstream or downstream apps/sites/activities into your innovation process.
  • Integration of External Resources - Supports integration of external resources, such as enterprise apps, SharePoint resources, or cloud services.

Administration

Cim 2.0 is a native SharePoint application that leverages the data, administration, and security of SharePoint. It comes with its own administration interface for use by business users/power users, and specialized features for system administrators.


  • For the Business/Power User – Administration is designed for the business user/power users. Tasks such as creating new communities, modifying tags, creating new management hubs, and changing tabs and pages are part of standard training for non-technical users.
  • Security Trimmed - Users only see information they have access to.
  • SharePoint Permission Management - Manage role-based security and permissions. Fully supports SharePoint Security Administration to item level. Provides additional layer of designated user security at the end-user task level.
  • Lockdown – Enables system administrators to specify only those users who have the rights to customize the solution.
  • Global Links and Site Portfolios – Supports end-to-end process in the distributed SharePoint work environment. Enables features to be implemented using named resource variables vs. absolute URLs – reducing administration. In addition, we provide Site Portfolios to enable you to centrally control what information you work with.
  • Central Administration - Central administration of Portal services, communities, and Snaplets. Make one change centrally and all uses are updated.
  • Easy Module Administration – Each solution module has an easy-to-use, native SharePoint interface for administration by non-technical users.
  • Archive Communities - Able to archive past communities, campaigns, challenges individually containing posts and related comments, ratings, and documents.
  • SharePoint Administration Tools Support - Supports standard SharePoint templatization and backup and third-party backup and administration tools.
