The Data Integration Toolset offers a host of features and components that provide data in XML from local and remote SharePoint sites (i.e. SharePoint 2003 and SharePoint 2007) as well as external data sources (i.e., SQL Server and Microsoft Project Server 2007).
- “Provide” SharePoint data in XML – Like the CorasWorks Workplace Suite, the Toolset can “roll–up” data across your SharePoint lists and libraries, sites, and site collections. The key difference is that the Toolset provides that data in an XML stream.
- Connect to and Provide Data from Remote SharePoint Environments or Server Farms – The Toolset helps transcend the boundaries of SharePoint by allowing you to connect to, and provide data from remote SharePoint environments or server farms.
- Connect to and Integrate Data from External Sources – In addition to integrating data from several external sources, the Toolset also includes the ability to write back data to the original external source via the CorasWorks Business Form, accessed through SharePoint.
Once the SharePoint or external data is provided in XML, you can then consume that data in a variety of ways to expose it within your SharePoint–based sites and processes. Examples of the uses include creating your own custom displays using XSLT and client–side Java Script, using the Toolset’s configurable displays, or other third–party display tools.
