FAAs Knowledge Services Network (KSN) Recognized by the Industry Advisory Council

Reston, VA - March 23, 2007 - CorasWorks Corporation, the leading worldwide provider of workplace application software on the Microsoft SharePoint collaboration platform, today announced that the FAA’s Knowledge Services Network (KSN), which leverages the CorasWorks Workplace Suite, was selected by the Industry Advisory Council as a “Top 5” winner of its prestigious 2007 Excellence.Gov awards for best practices in federal e-government programs.

The FAA’s Knowledge Services Networks is a 22,000 member state-of-the-art collaborative business environment providing “virtual work” capabilities accessible securely over the internet. The KSN utilizes both the CorasWorks Workplace Suite and Microsoft SharePoint to successfully bridge geography and bureaucracy to deliver significant cost savings and substantially improve productivity to the agency.

A panel of 22 judges, representing both government and industry, reviewed 115 nominations before narrowing down to 20 finalists. Focusing on how agencies best leveraged technology to enhance collaboration, the “Top 5” winners were further evaluated on the following criteria:

• the means of collaboration enabled by technology;
• use of innovative information technology to support the objectives of collaborating organizations and federal strategic goals and objectives;
• demonstrable efficiency gains, cost advantages, or superiority over previous methods of collaboration, supported by metrics;
• a sound approach to addressing security and privacy of data.
