Workspace

Whenever you are in SharePoint you are within a site. When a site is used for collaboration work, we call it a “workspace.” In general, this means that the site is being used to hold information that is generally shared by a group of people. It is the most common type of solution using SharePoint out of the box for collaboration. In the workspace model, each SharePoint site stands on its own. Thus, the key purpose of a workspace site is to hold information or tools for a given purpose. It is often part of a fuller solution.

RFP Workspace

This is a workspace for the response for a single request for proposal. It is document centric workspace used by the proposal team to complete their response. The tabs and views have Active Displays that are used to get approvals and to move the proposal forward. In this way, it is a rather simple workspace.

Customer Project Workspace

This workspace is more complicated than the RFP Management workspace. Instead of working primarily with documents, it has a full set of mini-processes to support a complex project. It contains the usual tasks, issues, and documents. But, it also has tasks and sub-tasks which are related and dependent. It also has support for managing level of effort, expenses, and risks.
